This September, following months of organisation by CSW Enterprise, the Royal Naval, Babcock International and the MoD, the mangnicesnt HMS Bulwark hosted an amazing celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths.

The two day event at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth, aimed at 9 to 11 year-olds was a massive success and involved 240 students and teachers from 20 primary schools from across Plymouth.

This was the first event of its kind for children of this age and aimed to raise the aspiration and awareness of STEM subjects and careers by taking part in ten STEM activities across five locations on the amphibious landing ship in a fun, inspiring and hands-on way.

Captain Martyn Williams, head of engineering for the Devonport Flotilla, said the event, “was vital to plan ahead and address the shortage of engineers across the UK and in the maritime sector”.
