STEM Networking Event

As part of the Futureworks project in North Devon, we are delighted to invite STEM teachers, professionals and Ambassadors from North Devon to a networking event on Thursday 14th March at Petroc, Barnstaple.

The event is taking place the week after National Apprentice Week – highlighting the importance of this route in to work for young people. There will be the opportunity to meet apprentices, as well as science workshops and speed networking.

This event offers the opportunity for schools and businesses to build links with each other and share and gain insights into STEM Apprenticeships. By working together, we can ensure that students are inspired by and prepared for the STEM opportunities that available to them locally.

Manufacturing in particular is a key part of North Devon’s economy. Local manufacturing businesses struggle to recruit for roles. This means that there is a really good opportunity for young people in the area to pursue a STEM career.

By creating opportunities for schools and businesses to work together, we can inspire the future generation to follow a path that will lead to rewarding, well-paid careers in the local area.
